IEC Standard for PLC Splitter

1. Standard: IEC 61300-3-4
Test: Attenuation
The requirements to symmetric elements MxN with M={1,2}, to operate in the windows from 1260-1360 nm and 1480-1580nm, are:

5. Standard: IEC 61300-2-1
Test: Vibration
The Attenuation should be within the following limits with reference to the inicial value:
-During tests the variation of Attenuation should be ≤ 0,50dB.
– After tests the difference between initial attenuation and final attenuation should be ≤ 0,30dB.
– During and after tests the return loss should be ≥ 55dB.
The test should be done in the following conditions:
– Frequency: 10-55 Hz;
– Amplitude: 0.75mm
– Number of cycles: 15;
– Duration: 90 minutes divided in 3 perpendicular directions;
– During test the Attenuation should be measured in space of time of 5 s at maximum, in at least 1 of the outputs.
– The measurements should be done in the window of 1480-1580nm.

6. Standard: IEC 61300-2-4
Test: Fiber/Cable Retention
The Attenuation should be within the following limits with reference to the initial value:
-During tests the variation of Attenuation should be ≤ 0,50dB.
– After tests the difference between initial attenuation and final attenuation should be ≤ 0,30dB.
– During and after tests the return loss should be ≥ 55dB.
The test should be done in the following conditions:
– Retention 5 N
– Approx Application speed 0.5 N/s
– Duration: 60 s
– Application point: 0,3 m from the end of the housing, fiber to fiber;
– The measurements should be done in the window of 1480-1580nm. 

7. Standard: IEC 61300-2-17
Test: Climatic Requirements – Cold
The Attenuation should be within the following limits with reference to the initial value:
-During tests the variation of Attenuation should be ≤ 0,30dB.
– During and after test the return loss should be > 55dB.
The test should be done in the following conditions:
– Temperature = -25ºC
– Duration 96h;
– Preconditioning: 2 h at 25ºc;
– Attenuation should be measured at least each 60 minutes.
– The measurements should be done in the window of 1480-1580nm. 

8. Standard: IEC 61300-2-18 
Test: Climatic Requirements – Dry Heat
The Attenuation should be within the following limits with reference to the initial value:
-During the test the variation of Attenuation should be ≤ 0,30dB.
– During and after test the return loss should be > 55dB.
The test should be done in the following conditions:
– Temperature = +75 ºC;
– Duration: 96 h;
– Preconditioning: 2h at 25ºC;
– Attenuation should be measured at least each 60 minutes.
– The measurements should be done in the window of 1480-1580nm. 

9. Standard: IEC 61300-2-22
Test: Climatic Requirements – Cycles of Temperature
The Attenuation should be within the following limits with reference to the initial value:
-During the test the variation of Attenuation should be ≤ 0,30dB.
– During and after test the return loss should be > 55dB.
The test should be done in the following conditions:
– High temperature = +75 ºC
– Low Temperature = -25 ºC- Speed of temperature changes: 1 ºC/min
– Time in extreme temperatures: 4 h
– Number of cycles: 12;
– Conditioning: 2 h at 25 ºC;
– Recuperation: 2h at 25 ºC
– The Attenuation should be measured, at least, each 10 minutes;
– The measurements should be done in the window of 1480-1580nm 

10. Standard: IEC 61300-2-19
Test: Climatic requirements – Humidity
The Attenuation should be within the following limits with reference to the initial value:
-During the test the variation of Attenuation should be ≤ 0,30dB.
– During and after test the return loss should be > 55dB.
The test should be done in the following conditions:
– Temperature = +40 ºC
– UR = 93%
– Duration: 96h;
– Preconditioning: 2h at 25 ºC
– Recuperation: 2h at 25 ºC
– Attenuation shold be measured at least each 60 minutes;
– The measurements should be done in the window of 1480-1580nm 

11. Standard: IEC 61300-2-45
Test: Climatic Requirements – Water Immersion
The Attenuation should be within the following limits with reference to the initial value:
-During the test the variation of Attenuation should be ≤ 0,30dB.
– During and after test the return loss should be > 55dB.
The test should be done in the following conditions:
– Water Column: 150mm;
– Temperature: + 43 ºC
– Duration: 168 hours
– Attenuation should be measured at least each 10 minutes;
– The measurements should be done in the window of 1480-1580nm 

12. Standard: IEC 61300-2-5
Test: Torsion
The Attenuation should be within the following limits with reference to the initial value:
-During the test the variation of Attenuation should be ≤ 0,50dB.
– After the test, the difference of initial attenuation and final attenuation should be ≤ 0,30dB.
– During and after test the return loss should be > 55dB.
The test should be done in the following conditions:
– Torsion to be applicated: 2 N;
– Point of application: 0,2 m from the end of the housing;
– Maximun angle of torsion: 180º
– Number of cycles: 25 cycles
– The measurements should be done in the window of 1480-1580nm
